eft needs to be banned. Right now. He should not post here.
Never called for this before. But enough’s enough.

So, the poster who has cheered a US Senator being beaten is calling for someone to be banned?
This same poster has called a bunch of people racists on this forum. Your drama queen act is old and you really shouldn't be taken seriously on anything you post.

I fully expect Chris to go all Neil Young on Mark. I can see the board mail now -
"it's either him or me on this forum". But it will be written in all CAPS.

Speaking of Neil Young. Barry Manilow and Peter Frampton are all in w/ Neil too.

Let's ask him
I wasn't familiar with the information from the Vox article.
eftg1 -- what did you mean by this?

Mark, that "Echo" symbology has been called out by the American Jewish Committee as being
anti-semitic code...(see link)...
This website aligns itself with "Notre Dame University"...hopefully, all of us treasure what it stands for, and anti-semitism obviously isn't part of it. For someone like "Ef" to post such material clearly shows where his "head is at"...IMO he should not be given this forum to spread such hate and divisiveness. Since he did this of his own volition, it's fair to say he'd continue to do this even if 'Warned' not to...therefore, I side with Chris on this one.

Mark, how about limiting posting new topic privileges based on the number of downvotes your previous
post accumulate. Say I start two posts today and they net a negative I can’t post another new topic for a few days

I don't agree with banning people in general, is this the first time you've noticed this?
wrdomerson2374 postsUntil your post I had no idea that was a thing, I guess because this is about the most social of media I use.
He obviously follows some anti-Semitic people on Twitter, and I feel like he randomly posts things from his feed as a copy/paste.
I don't feel he is the brightest of bulbs on here, and most of the time I find his one line posts to be interesting insight into the workings of someone who has gone over the deep end on the right, similar to Conor or Jim for the left.

Banning is very rare
Almost never happens. I've been a moderator since 2015 and I can remember two times we imposed a permanent ban, and in both cases the pattern of conduct was really bad.

I was asking if anyone had noticed him being anti-Semitic prior to these current posts
wrdomerson2374 postsI do wonder if eftg has no idea what he is copy/pasting from his twitter feed. He very well might as Chris believes.

I'm still having trouble finding the problematic post.

His post means Soros THE JEW is controlling Zelensky THE JEW

You should post the board mails without the username for kicks
wrdomerson2374 postsI am sure they would be a fun read.
I was unaware that people hated you, I have gotten the impression that some people think you lay the smack down on some more than others, but not hate.

Explaining my thinking
There are very smart people who post on this board and the last thing we want to do is to discourage legitimate discourse. I know I lean a lot just reading what you folks put up here every day, and I appreciate the opportunity to participate. That said, posts that are no more than insults and name-calling make the board unreadable. Those are the strings that get locked, or even deleted if they're really tedious or ugly. If the insults go too far I generally counsel people with board mails. Most of the time that works, at least for a while, but there are occasions where someone refuses a request to stop being a dick. That's when I use a suspension. The base suspension is 48 hours, but repeat offenders can get more. Really ugly insults also justify longer suspensions.
All that said --some of you are really good at hurling insults in a witty fashion. I admit it's a subjective standard, but if you make me laugh I sometimes (usually?) let it go.

Respectfully, your knowledge of what it means is not relevant. The fact that it means what it means
and is used on this Board is.
I think I'm done with this thread. I'm not into banning - eftg should continue to post away - but it should clearly stop.
