Our opinions are primarily emotional... then we look for facts to support them, AND

disregard those which do not.

If you favor centralized bureaucratic control of society and the economy by "enlightened" elites then you can cite and argue enough facts to convict anyone who opposes your obsessive compulsivity of almost any crime you can conjure up. On the other hand, if you prefer a strictly libertarian approach to government you can easily find facts to support paranoid conspiracy theories about deep state abuses of power. To a certain degree there are probably elements of truth in both viewpoints... although it is impossible to convince your opponents to ever open their minds to an alternative reality.

Just read the threads on this site and see if I am wrong.

Which one? Against the Prez or against the Obama "intelligence" (sic) minions?

There are studies that back this up

Although I can't find it through a Google search, I do remember a study done on this.

500 people, half Democrats, half Republicans. They all were shown two competing health care plans. Half were told Plan A was from the Democrats and Plan B was from the Republicans. The other half were told the exact opposite.

Didn't matter the plan or the person, over 75% of all Republicans and Democrats strongly defended "their" party's "plan" and attacked the other.

Proves it's not the action most people judge, but who did the action. And we're seeing it in spades with impeachment. If anyone seriously thinks that if President Hillary Clinton would be getting impeached today while doing the exact same thing Trump did to get impeached, they're not dealing in reality.

It wasn’t a study it was a poll.

It was the ACA vs Obama Care.

The majority of those questioned wanted the ACA but rejected Obama Care. The fact was the ACA and Obama Care are the exact same thing.

When it comes to a national HC Plan, the Republicans as a party have never authored one. They’ve proffered death panels and other false statements on Democrat’s HC policies but have never put forth a plan/policy.

Only one poll/study was done on healthcare / political partisanship?

You post the study. You are the one who acted like you know of it.

I have said nothing about the study, other than to express doubt that there was only one, and to indicate that it is possible that you two are talking about different studies/polls, contrary to your strongly stated post.

The y-axis could run from “very intelligent” up top down through to “moronically stupid”. The x-axis might run from “just plain unpleasant” on the left over to “very nice” on the right.

It is my sad duty to inform you that you stand alone in occupying the furthest left and lowest portion of said matrix.

I’ll post a podcast that mentions several studies, but no polls.

I was of course right. There was nothing emotional about my thinking.

It might make you feel better to minimize others by calling their thinking emotional, but you are wrong in the end.

If nothing else, you seem emotional about this post.
