How many times would this Congress have impeached Reagan?

Obviously, there was the Iran-Contra Affair. I'm sure other things as well.

Just saw this video about the 1985 Sigonella Incident, which involved, in the aftermath of the hijacking of the Achille Lauro, orders by Ronald Reagan (i) specifically authorizing interception of a civilian plane to capture the hijackers (an act of war / violation of international law), (ii) resulting in an armed standoff on Sicily between US special forces (Seal Team 6 and Delta Force) and the Italian military, and (iii) an armed standoff in the air between the US Air Force and the Italian Air Force, as Italian military sought to stop a US Air Force executive plane, and the US Air Force sought to protect that plane ... not to mention a "cover-up" as both nations sought to downplay the dispute for diplomatic purposes afterward. Can you imagine if this had been Trump doing this?

The courts are far more important to modern Dems than they were in Reagan's era

They are more freaked out by the probability of another conservative judge taking RBG's seat than anything else. On the other hand, Ronald was a far more popular personality than is Trump, so they might have been reluctant to attack him.

Remarkable statement. Which party has been obsessed with the courts since then?

Good point! On the other hand, it was very stupid by the Republicans, who paid a price.

If we want to end this circus we need the Dems to pay in November, and thereby inoculate both parties against this waste of legislative time.

Seriously, though. Conor and Chris say zero, but I think you recognize that if Trump did those things today, he would definitely be impeached. You can blame it on me (even though I was a Libertarian during Clinton's time in office). Fine. Others can blame it on the Dems. Whatever. It is what it is. Reagan would be impeached today...or, the impeachment is only because he's a mean tweeter who took Hillary's presidency away from her. Either there has been a change that is not good for the country (or good, if you hate executive power), or the anti-Trumper's are disingenuous.

They already impeached Biden's campaign, so the stupid lives loudly in them.

Be told on a daily basis how evil they are by your msm programmers.

Just like W, just like Trump, just like Barr, just like Nunes, just like Jim Jordan, just like Kavanaugh, etc., etc..

You have hurt the country irreparably with your political impeachment precedent.

"deserved" it.

And you will feel every non Dem president "deserves" it because they are not the Left's choice, and thus will be made into Snydley Whiplash by your msm, and you will then hate them like the loyal automaton that you are.

The impeachment was not “political.”

The acquittal was “political.” Only one Republican Senator voted on the facts.

Trump remains a “clear and present danger” to our democracy. You remain complicit as a supporter.
