1) Libs will never, ever, ever give up on this chance to finally harpoon their great orange whale that they have stalked through the seven seas and the maelstrom and back without success.

2) China didn’t just lie about the virus, they made up false data.

3) The WHO screwed up by blindly trusting a untrustworthy source - (btw this is is reminiscent of our concerns the international oversight of Iran in the Iran Deal). WHO issues a tweet on Jan 14 that it isn’t transmitting human to human.

4) Our CDC trusted the WHO

5) Our President, Donald J Trump trusted the experts from the CDC initially after being reassured by their advice

6) Reports of China kicking out journalists start, and China lies more about the situation.

7) Despite neither the WHO nor the CDC yet being willing to call this virus a pandemic, Trump decides to ban travel to China despite massive negative impact to economy that will result in an election year. Trump put the country ahead of himself.
This move proves to be the single biggest effect on “flattening the curve” to date.

8). Liberals and msm immediately call Trump racist for banning China travel.

9) Trump discovers in ensuing weeks that the pandemic response plans in our country are woefully lacking and reorganizes the structure bringing in private industry to help in an unprecedented move.

10) Ventilator shortage mentioned by conor- 2010 Obamacare guidelines go into effect. Specific taxes and regulations on medical device makers eliminates ability to make ventilators affordable much less in volume.
Trump removes such regulations as Virus hits the US and the world.

11). Trump restricts travel first to Italy and specific hot spots, and then to Europe and the UK despite their protests that they wanted a say in the matter.

12) Trump brings 2 parties together for massive relief packages for the newly unemployed

13). Imagine if a weaker economy had to endure this.

14). Who has shown himself to be the president who will know best how to help the economy fight back?

Sounds like reasonable leadership to me.

We were caught flatfooted because the nation did not get out in front of this.

Trump did not help as he downplayed it until about a week ago.

We were "on notice" 6 -8 weeks ago that a pandemic was coming. It required a strong proactive response -- shut down travel, ramp up production of supplies and test kits, freeze in place.

It required a leader with the vision and political courage to communicate that the nation needed to jump on a small hand grenade before we were hit with a monster hand grenade. South Korea did so.

Trump (like many posters including you, Baron) belittled the threat. Made fun of the media "hysteria."

And now we are in a shit storm.

Work the problem.

Trump’s not perfect. Get over it and stop holding him to a standardno one can meet so that you can see him fail.

You also show a long term pattern of not accepting Trump’s inherent speaking style. Even when you know what he means (CNN coverage being a hoax to induce frenzy rather than the epidemic being a hoax), you refuse to acknowledge it because you are predisposed against him.

16) Trump initially discourages testing so we can keep numbers low so as to not spook the stock market

17) Trump repeatedly downplays the severity of the virus b/c he is afraid of its ecomonic impact. People are still comparing this to the flu even though its 20X more deadly

18) Trump appoints Pence to be in charge despite the fact he couldn't control an HIV pandemic in his own state.

19) Trump classifies all executive branch communication related to the virus so that all expert info goes through he and Pence instead of straight to the people

20) Trump classifies intelligence memos that have warned him since his first day in office that the US was ill-prepared for a pandemic

21) Trump tries to keep cruise ships from docking, going against all medical experts and basically guaranteeing a bigger spread within the ship.

22) Still no tests in my community..they are now doing several postmortem tests b/c they couldn't get the tests while the patients were still alive.

23) With lack of federal guidance until a couple days ago every state is responding totally differently...which undermine the efforts of the more proactive states.

He is doing better now, but hopefully it is not too late. His initial handling of the issue deserved the criticism it received.

To be clear, this is China's fault, but none of us can change political conditions within China. We can demand a better response from our leaders.

she is on the front lines - working minimum 14 hours/day in medical facilities around the baltimore area. she told me this morning that the trump administration has done a fantastic job from a medical perspective of phasing in appropriate measures using available resources and of covering the horrid deficiencies created by the obama administration, the chinese, who, and the msm. she said it is going to get a lot worse, but has confidence the policies being implemented by this administration will win in as short a time as humanly possible. she is a 45+ year expert in emergency procedures and processes, has been on lecture tours, and gets contracted by hospitals across the country to revitalize their emergency departments.

I just don't assume that only people of my political persuasion are doing that.

I assume that split is probably 50/50.

But what I've seen with my own eyes leads me to believe the TP situation doesn't break 50/50.

It's people driving into town from outer areas (which are mostly Republican compared to in-town which are mostly liberal) that are buying all the TP they can stuff in their SUV

I have said it before, he's a prick, has an ego the size of a house, but he knows how to get things done and he doesnt give a shit what people think about him

Sounds like a leader to me. He is doing an excellent job just like he has done with 90% of everything else.

That's all I care about, now all the TDS'ers can flail away with their blathering. It has gotten quite comical to read; entertaining in fact in lieu of such poor choices on TV
