This seems to be a reasonable article about what we can expect going forward. Michael Osterholm seems to be widely respected.

answer.
Don't know how to achieve 60 or 70% level immunity, but admit it's the reality we have to get there.
Don’t know if the vaccines under developing can get our goal.
Admit we don't really don't really the origin of 1918 flu, and we don't know what happened to the virus of the past 10 pandemic.
Reject demand of a universal magic answer/response. If any answer/response is viewed good, it is only good today, not necessarily good in long term.
This is the attitude that a scientist/expert should have, being honest and not afraid to say we don't know.
Heart disease and cancer are #1 and #2, and it's not close.
More fear porn.

In assessing COVID19, we must consider it in totality. We now know that the obese are disproportionately affected by COVID19.
The observation that it is helping to cull the population of lardasses is valid.

We have to learn to "live" with the inevitable "costs." We already take reasonable precautions with the other major causes of death without ruining our lives. There is no reason why our response to coronavirus should be any different, especially when the overwhelming number fatalities are among the very elderly.
This is also why leadership is important. It’s a fast spreading, communicable disease without any immunity. That’s what distinguishes it from other causes of death. That’s why historically we still talk about events like the bubonic plague and Spanish flu.
The problem we have is that when we reopened, vast swaths of the population just thought that meant going back to how things were before, despite the continuing existence of this very communicable disease. You need to take care of yourself and your family. You don’t need to stay in lockdown or hibernation, but I wouldn’t be going to mass events, or packed restaurants or bars. Again, you can’t fix stupid.
It’s not trial and error to know that we just couldn’t resume our normal lives after lockdown with this thing still out there. If one is too stupid to know that, again it can’t be fixed. You need to be smart and take precautions. If not, it’s on you.
