The govt institutions aren’t the main problem. The country is moving left (both economically and socially) as the younger generations take over. The change in attitudes toward policing since Ferguson is a particular canary in the mine. 40% of the nation think socialism is fine. That trend is only going to accelerate and Orange is going to be looked at as the last gasp of the far right.
I’m not going to bore you with all the reasons why I think Orange is an existential threat to the nation. They are covered in my 40K plus prior droppings. But I truly think he is, now more than ever, both personally, and in his governing philosophy to the extent there is one. I wonder if the nation will survive in its current form another 4 of him if he is re-elected.
