Hard to imagine Putin accepting a defeat here

Things do not seem to be going according to plan thus far. Russians are taking a beating.

NATO countries are now openly pouring weapons into Ukraine. Including Germany. They will certainly support a guerrilla campaign.

It’s hard to imagine Putin accepting a loss.

All this means this could get ugly and dangerous before it’s all over.

We want peace and we want to stop current war. So, we agree to sign this treaty.

1. Ceasefire for both sides within next 24 hours
2. Russia pull troops out of Ukraine by March 5th 2022
3. Russia will pay all losses of Ukraine caused by this war. The payment will be split in 3 installments starting from 2023, 2024 to 2025
4. The Ukrainian soldiers withdraw from the Donetsk and Lugansk of eastern Ukraine by March 5, 2022. This region will be temporarily administered by Russia.
5. Ukraine will recognize Crimea, which was given to Ukraine as a gift under USSR on 1955, as a part of the Russian Federation
6. By the end of 2022 the Donetsk and Lugansk of eastern Ukraine will hold a referendum solely on the issue of support the annexation of this region by Russia.
If over 70% voting is yes, the region will be part of Russia. If over 50% but under 70% yes, the region will remain in Ukraine, but will be given Autonomous region, a special status as defined in Minsk agreement in 2015.
7. After 1-6 are done, Ukraine should reiterate the peace treaty with Russia which was signed on 1997 but was terminated by Ukraine parliamentary on 2019. This peace treaty is to ensure no war between Russia and Ukraine.
https://www.ukrinform.net/rubric-polytics/2595439-parliament-of-ukraine-terminates-treaty-on-friendship-with-russia.html
8. Ukraine will put back "being a country of neutrality" to it's constitution which was removed from constitution after coup 2014, i.e. won't join NATO. But its airspace is allowed to open to NATO per request.

invasion are saying they have no desire to give up even one millimeter of their country to Vlad...they are innocent victim's of Putin's desperate attempt to attain relevance.

Putin is a failure...in over 20 years he couldn't make Russia into an economic power any bigger than Italy or the State of New York...he just wants to perform a "hostile takeover' of Ukraine to improve his bottom line...among other things...

Ukraine doesn't need Russia...but Putin definitely needs Ukraine...

Good on the Ukrainians. He likely underestimated them and expected a rollover..

Watching CNN and it looks like the Russians are bringing in a ton of heavy artillery. Probably hoped for an easy W and now that hasn’t happened they’ll shell the shit out of Kyiv.

And I bet you just post it to “own the libs” or whatever you hilarious guys say.

Putin attacked Georgia in 2008, when GWB was in charge. Was he old and senile too? Or does this maybe not have much to do with who is in the White House?

We are not the center of the universe, believe it or not. Other countries have interests too.

He senses weakness in the west, and particularly the US in an election year. He wants Ukraine. He’s not pleased about Khazakstan and our possible role there. He has a good relationship with China and they aren’t yet in a position to try to stop this.

And to Chris’ point, he’ll keep escalating until he wins. You don’t want a completely destroyed country, but he’ll destroy enough to win.
