Maine is a backward taker state. Its voters care more about welfare and Medicaid dollars and other federally-funded handouts and pork than about corruption — real or imaginary. As Chairwoman of the Senate Appropriations Committee, Collins delivers the federal dollars that Maine survives on. Pre-election polls have regularly predicted close races when Collins is up for reelection, but they are almost never accurate. In her 2020 reelection bid, every major public poll had Collins behind her opponent. The final Quinnipiac poll had her trailing by 12 points. She won the election by 8.6 points. Collins will beat her incestuous communist opponent comfortably.

These are results for did trump's DOJ shut down an investigation involving Susan Collins and bribery?

        AI Overview
According to ProPublica, an FBI and Department of Justice anti-corruption inquiry involving Senator Susan Collins and potential pay-to-play bribery was effectively shut down and shelved after Donald Trump returned to office and leadership restructured federal anti-corruption units.

        ProPublica

        Overview of the Investigation
The Source: The inquiry stemmed from confessions and cooperation by imprisoned former Navatek defense contractor CEO Martin Kao, who pleaded guilty to campaign finance crimes and loan fraud. Kao claimed he funneled illegal donations via shell companies and lobbyists in exchange for federal defense contracts.

        ProPublica

The Evidence: By late 2024, Washington-based FBI anti-corruption agents concluded they had gathered enough evidence—corroborated by records and emails—to warrant broadening the probe into congressional actions and a pro-Collins super PAC.

        American Oversight

The Shutdown: Following Trump's return to office in 2025 and subsequent personnel purges and restructuring within the FBI and DOJ, the public corruption unit was dismantled and the active inquiry into the matter was left dead or shelved.

        Responses and Denials
From the Senator's Office: Senator Susan Collins and her staff have vigorously denied any allegations of bribery or pay-for-play, calling the claims a "smear job" and a political hit piece that improperly relies on the statements of a convicted felon. Collins' office asserted that an earlier review had found no wrongdoing, though reports noted that investigators continued probing aspects of the case into early 2025.

        The New York Times

From the FBI/Administration: An FBI spokesperson stated that previous phases of the inquiry found nothing implicating Senator Collins or her campaign, and defended personnel changes by stating staff were only removed for ethical breaches or weaponization of law enforcement, while declining to answer specifics regarding the late-2024 investigative phase

Welcome to the Open Forum...and thanks for choosing me as your first contact. You definitely have a

point there...her election record supports your contention...we shall see very shortly.

But the ProPublica article is a serious challenge to whether or not she should be prosecuted for participating in a criminal offense. The authors have already presented what could amount to "Probable Cause"...I, for one, would like to see this play out.

      What's your opinion on it?

        Thank you, Ty.

Maine is a cesspool of Democrat criminality.

The Democrat governor, Janet Mills, and her brother, Peter Mills, have pocketed millions via state contract cronyism and a shell company owned by Peter.

The original Democrat nominee for U.S. Senate, Graham Platner, is a Nazi rapist.

The Maine State House Speaker, Ryan Fecteau, attempted to deny the legislative voting rights of a duly elected Republican State Rep, Laurel Libby, and, by extension, disenfranchise her entire district. Likewise, Maine’s Democrat Secretary of State illegally tried to remove President (then candidate) Trump from the 2024 ballot. Both the House Speaker and Secretary of State were slapped down by the SCOTUS.

Although the total financial losses will likely not equal Minnesota’s because it is a smaller state, Maine’s Somali Medicaid and welfare fraud is every bit as egregious as Minnesota’s. Like their Minnesota counterparts, Maine Democrats have turned a blind eye to Somalis pilfering tax dollars in order to effectively buy their votes.

Other than Platner, has ProPublica covered these stories? If not, then they clearly have a left-wing agenda, and their goal is to elect a Democrat to replace Collins in the Senate, truth be damned. If ProPublica has covered these stories of extensive Maine Democrat corruption, then their Collins story would have more credibility.
