In a world where you "own" nothing, what does prosperity look like? How about human rights?

People sort of take it for granted, but the existence of private property is one of the underpinnings of the western political and value system.

If you take the notion of ownership away, what does a society like that look like? What does prosperity look like? Is it easier to take away fundamental rights? Harder? Does cancellation for thinking the "wrong" thing become easier?

The conspiracy theorists point to this as a target outcome from the WEF. Like a lot of things, I think this will happen, but possibly more out of happenstance than a master plan. But maybe it is a plan.

I'm fortunate that I have a good job as a lawyer, own a house & cars, have kids in college and Catholic high school, and buy groceries, and I regularly think that the cost of everything is so high that unless you have a high income and an existing pot of money on which you can rely, it would be very difficult as a young person to reach escape velocity attain the life I live now, which is basically what my parents did on two high school educations.

So, the natural outcome of high prices seems to be the reduction in the ownership of things by everyone, and especially extraneous things. Seems like a bleak outcome for younger people, but I think it will take at least two generations to reset expectations about what is reasonable and attainable in society, and maybe then the U.S. (assuming no monumental societal changes) can return to a society of builders and entrepreneurs.
