The direction of what Trump is doing in my view is correct. But its operation did impact part of Trump 2024 election coalition. Specifically, young white male, blue collar working class and latino voters. Many of them went back to D camp this time.

But if you travel, you can see Trump’s re-industrialization America is happening in many states, especially in midwestern and red states. But its effects need time to show up.

of course the stupid Iran war also has a big impact on this midterm. Inflation issue is originated from Biden term. The war made it worse. Plus, most R don’t want to admit it, the Israel issue also caused R a lot of votes. What Israel did in Gaza is wrong. We should condemn it. It doesn’t mean we don’t support them to fight Humas.

People still think that the problems facing the US can be solved by elections. Trump could have coasted into the midterms delivering on a lot of what he promised with a reasonable economy, but either through hubris or other means, he started the war and completely screwed the Republicans.

If Texas is trending blue long term, how narrow has the path become for any Republican presidential candidate? Add Texas to the locked-in Democratic base of California, NY and Illinois and that's a huge head start for the Dems.
