...they absolutely want the govt shutdown to hurt Trump, and this is what is driving the MSM narrative which counters every piece of good news with a counter bad news COVID story. And few would things drive the economy down more than families without the child coverage for school.
But parents are getting really pissed off about it, and will moreso as the election approaches.
Trump and the GOP has very clearly come down in favor of opening the schools.
The Dems will have a hard time reconciling this with their heath fear narrative.
The reality of their situation is just starting to sink in. They are the Party of Shutdown. They have set in motion a narrative such that the inevitable broad increases in + test results is a scary thing when in fact, it was fully expected. But people are also noticing that people are rarely dying - even with risk factors, and extremely rarely without them. These numbers are starting to align with other bad flu years when nothing was done.
If the Dems allow schools to reopen, they are not only allowing the economy to recover in close proximity to the election, but they are conceding that their cure was worse than the COVID.
If they don't allow schools to repon, they will be killed at the ballot box, and no propaganda poll will save them.

I am in favor of opening schools. But anyone who thinks it will be easy - or doesn’t get nervous about it - is a fool. And an asshole.
Our kids’ schools are coming up with heroic, half-crazy plans to try to keep kids safe. They realize they need to open. And they are trying hard.
They could really use clear guidance from the CDC, stuff not undercut by president asshole.
Now he is pretending that his political enemies want to stop schools from opening to hurt him personally. And total morons are believing it.
He is the worst person to have in the White House. Barring none. We’d be better off with Hank the Tank.

The first thing Dems should stop doing is scaring everybody with these + tests results which were inevitable and which are really jumping as widespread testing starts to happen.
It is the death rate that matters.
But Dems would also have to admit that there has been an overreaction because that death rate isn’t as was advertised , and they would also be giving up on the chance to hurt the economy more before the election.
I personally cannot believe that this party has done such an egregious thing to this country in its obsessive hatred of Trump.
If Trump weren’t pushing to open schools right now, they wouldn’t be opening. That is a fact. Thus, he has been the force for good for our kids here.
