The lack of participation by congressional lawyers was evident.

They did take a break came back from break and finished 10 minutes later
Because it was only to be a few minutes longer, as Nadler pointed out, he didn’t want prolong the session.
But Barr, the whiner couldn’t see past what he thought was a clever stunt. For those of us who watched the hearing, we know why Nadler was reluctant to stop with only a few minutes remaining

But you’re right. At best Barr was dissembling and combative - he used this as an opportunity to say, “I was there as asked - I didn’t duck my responsibility’s” but it did come clear he’s Trump’s fixer.
