I haven’t defended this guy other than to acknowledge that after watching the videos, it does appear to be self defense in the first episode in which he was involved.
“He was an idiot for being down there“ is an argument. But it cedes the ability to defend one’s property.

PS: The St Louis couple who pulled out their weapons had them in hand before the protesters opened the gate to the closed street.
As for the venom - there hasn't been from me. I've pointed out that the two lied about the gate being broken down and they lied about being
threatened. In fact now that you bring it up, they haven't stopped lying about the incident and have promoted Trumpian falsehoods about
the suburbs being over-run by violent gangs...!
