This seems like insanity. Will it next become illegal to use a cell phone camera to record an alleged felony?

Apparently the gas was making the White Antifa & BLM domestic terrorists gag and wheeze. And well...we can't have that. Resistance and all. Luckily that got reversed if a riot is declared, so they declare a riot and gas the pricks.
As the good book teaches...too fucking bad snowflake!

Facial recognition should not be used as SOLE evidence of guilt.
But it could be used to assist law enforcement in establishing potential suspects.
It is better than "fits the description" verbal accounts. Or "leads" from dubious informants.
Legit alibis would completely neuter misidentification.
Burden of proof is still on the prosecutor.
I suspect it's our leadership removing a tool from LE to curtail rioting. You know...resistance and all. But agree...not overly concerned with this.
I do find it laughable The claim that facial recognition technology is somehow racist or gender biased. That's just absurd.

If you train the model on a sample of 100 pink elephants bit only 20 blue elephants, it'll likely be better able to identify accurately pink elephants. Or if the nature of the lighting provides better contrast for pink elephants, etc.
I did some machine vision work back in the day, some objects are just easier to analyze than others for a variety of reasons, color being one.
Skynet is aware!
Nevertheless I would advise my fellow Portlanders try not breaking the law. See if that eases your fears of facial recognition...
