My cousin (early 70s) was told by his cardiologist at Johns Hopkins...
that he would be able to get the vaccine in March.
He doesn't have any risk factors other than his age. Maybe some in the medical community are already privy to the rollout schedule.

Pfizer's vaccine needs to be stored at -100 F. Absent modifications it's impractical in the face of
other vaccine(s) that appear to be able to be stored and transported at normal refrigeration.
Obviously subject to testing and verification.

In addition to the storage temp requirements, the vials also contain 5 doses per vial...
so, we as a facility will not give the vaccine unless 5 people are lined up and ready to take it and have already committed to taking the second dose required weeks later. It has to be given within minutes of being pulled from the refrigeration. Our hospital does not even have a frig that will store things at that temperature and they are now obviously hard to come by. The Moderna vaccine remains stable at regular refrigerator temperatures.
That won't stop it from getting to millions of people pretty quickly.
I'm sure there will be some spoilage though.
If it's available first and effective use it obviously for the early groups but logistics will not

That's true. Tough for rural or underdeveloped areas. It will be a good start though.
Then, we can get Moderna rolling. Also, I think J&J vaccine is a single dose.

I have an idea. Let's give it first to the Republicans who trust Trump and are happy with his warp
speed policy that enabled two private companies to develop the vaccine in 8 1/2 months. The Democrats who want to stick with Cuomo's plan for when it should be released can wait. Even Republicans in New York qualify to get it . Seems very fair and lets us make choice.
Why don't we start w/ the Trump Administration to begin coordinating w/ incoming Biden team?

Doing so will actually streamline the delivery of the vaccines (a big undertaking), .... and spare countless US lives.
I'm 73 but I would let the vulnerable or COVID paranoid folk go before me.
I don't trust Trump or any politician but I've never had a problem with a vaccine. My paranoia is limited to what will happen if we become a one party nation.
I am 70 and would take it in a heart beat even though I feel people are too paranoid
because I don't think it is as dangerous now as it once was and also the therapeutics and knowledge we have gained over time have helped make it less lethal.
