is there a reason why Gavin Newsom has yet to resign?

Good hair trumps that in California...

He's thoroughly enjoying the privileges of his position and has no intention of doing so?

Cuz he's a good Governor who made a kinda dumb personal choice.

That would be kinda dumb personal choices!
He's teflon in California because they are stepford voters.

Sorry, not allowed. That's a whatchamacallit, or
whatever it is that Chris is bitching about constantly

Roy Moore has the answer - ask him.

the dreaded whataboutism disease. the shame of not being able to do what is right.

No whataboutism - simply, if you want to know why Newsom isn't resigning, ask Roy Moore.
jimbasil55167 postsHe can give a better answer than most could.
You really need to know your terms and labels a bit better.

Thank you for clarifying its meaning, Jim. As I've observed with Chris and now you, it means...
"attempts to change the subject by referencing some other public figure or issue, except when I do it." Everybody got that? It's really simple.
Now we need to put our heads together and try to get Lance to understand that "cancellation" does not mean refusing to watch games or refusing to buy certain products or criticizing someone.

Because he now you don’t like my reply, it doesn’t mean it’s a deflection
jimbasil55167 postsor a whataboutism.
As we’ve noticed in your replies to Chris now me, you will tag on with some big erroneous claim to sway opinions of the gullible here. It’s your joy. So, prattle on.

I actually like your reply, Jim.
Once one recognizes that cravenness and a lack of integrity is more or less endemic among politicians, why would Newsom resign any more than Roy Moore should have dropped out of that senate race? But that's not the point. The point is that a couple of you repeatedly use the asinine term, "whataboutism," and then you proceed to employ it yourselves over and over again. Of course, it's entirely different when you guys do it. Sure, you say, "Well, what about so-and-so," but only some rubes would not understand that saying, "What about so-and-so" does not equate to "whataboutism." Stupid people.

My reply has very little to do with Roy Moore or his antics, it has to do with who supported
jimbasil55167 postshim in his quest and why. The Family Values folks of the south, this outgoing POTUS and the likes of WestCoast all get behind unsavory characters like Moore keeping him in the klieglights
of politics. So, though I would agree with some of your ideas on posting, my post was not a whataboutism. Simply directing the question to an appropriate place, ask Roy Moore why, he'll have the answer.

They were more against the other guy than for Moore. Sort of like the knuckleheads who voted for
Biden.

You can justify all day long but your family values base is shot. You and all R's have no claim
jimbasil55167 postson whether or not Newsom stays in office or not - you don't even get to question his time in office.

A leader has to set the example. Newsom failed in this instance.
It diminishes his voice on COVID restrictions for his state.
But, it is not an egregious breach of office that requires resignation.
