I know a lot about WW II and Vietnam but little about WW I and Korea.

WWI was the seminal defining event of the 20th Century, but in comparison to II it gets negligible
attention.
My grandfather was the youngest Sgt Major in the US Army in WW I.

that our grandfathers fought Germany in WWI...our fathers fought Germany and Japan in WWII...and some among us fought the Vietnamese, all with tremendous loss of life and incredible damage to those who survived....in the aftermath, my Dad (B17 Pilot in WWII) ended up driving a VW Bug to work (one that I later used senior year at ND)...I have owned a BMW and more than a couple of Japanese cars...our recently purchased End Table was manufactured in Vietnam...can someone explain why we had to go through all that "fuss", only to end up as business partners?
Good question. All I know is that it took WWI to teach the Allied winners that it wasn’t
worth it, while it took the even worse WWII to teach the losers that lesson.
