Fuck You COVID

Same goes for the CHICOMs who were probably lying about patient zero anyway...

There is much to be angry about when it comes to China, however, they did take the initiative to

define COVID-19's genetic code and immediately release it to the world's health organizations...which quickly led to vaccine developments...such as the new mRNA technology vaccines from Moderna and Pfizer.

On the topic of China and COVID...their 'signature' long-term national strategy is the "Belt and Road Initiative" which requires lots of happy customers who have trust in China. A worldwide COVID-19 pandemic out of Wuhan is unlikely to have been part of their "Marketing Plan" for the BLI.

..of their country.

Precisely because they were worried about perception, they misled about the virus and transmission at the outset which has cost a massive number of lives.

Agreed...concern for the "Brand" took precedence over doing "the right thing". To expand on that

thought, other examples come to mind...the Chernobyl Disaster would never have happened if the Soviet Union's culture wasn't such that no one was allowed to utter a word that would imply a mistake by any party official...a design flaw was found in another reactor but no report was allowed to be published...the Chernobyl team wouldn't have done their test had they known about it.

In a non-secular situation, we saw our own Catholic Hierarchy care more for the "Brand" when it came to pedophilia, than the wellbeing of its membership.

In all three cases a singular and insulated leadership, without an effective and institutional means of oversight, failed miserably with severe impacts on many innocent people. Let's make sure that our nation behaves properly and always strives to do "the right thing"...more dialogue on that theme is needed.
