Trump appears to be toast and his expulsion will leave his fanatical supporters dispirited. As a consequence the Dems have a great chance to sweep the Georgia Senate runoffs when the Trumpies don’t show up out of spite, leaving the Dems in a position to pass a very radical agenda, including adding DC as a State and thereby increasing their control of the country. It was similar with Obama whose adoring fans failed to show up for the Midterms and to support Hillary (whose negative personality also hurt the party). There shall be no Biden cult... thank god.
There are voters who thought that Trump was so mean that they were willing to take jobs away from middle America, and put the U.S. at a disadvantage with China, just to get a personality out of office.
My question is, what is more mean spirited? Tweeting bad stuff? Or giving two weeks notice to Joe Lineworker, and letting him go home to his two kids without a job, just because you can't stand having mean and crass Trump as president? That latter seems far more mean spirited to me.
all federal employees lie
Damn middle American jobs and their families, I want the bad tweeting stuff to stop!

of foreign govts, obstruction of justice, putinpedia, promotion of super spreading COVID events, incompetent COVID leadership, stupid deficit inflating tax cut, stupid trade wars, stupid trade policies, tariffs, the courting of racist supporters, the incompetence, and the baiting of Americans at each other’s throats. The mean tweets were enough.

He could have done many of the things he did without offending so many people. He has zero diplomatic skills. Or maybe he craves negative reactions. Regardless, his offensive remarks appealed to so many members of his intemperate base and then their lusty enthusiasm for ugly rhetoric egged him on to make even worse comments. It was a vicious feedback cycle that only made our country's divisions even wider.
Keep humoring yourself with your delusions

I would only stop short of blaming him for the divisiveness. It was already there. He is only guilty of exploiting the divisiveness, which has traditionally only been a power source for the Left, but he found a way to harness it for his own version of conservative-leaning progressivism.
At this point, it just seems like we are in an extended process of selecting the type of post-republic government we will have (assuming there will be only one, which is a big assumption). But, this country has certainly gone through divisive times in the past, so it may well weather this one, and the future may look back on these times like we look back on the LA riots and the late 60's.
But, all bets are off if Biden packs the Court and the Senate. I think that would indicate that we are in the beginning phase of a break-up of the United States.

Schumer was another.
Biden doesn't have to take anything off the table that he didn't suggest. He can leave it out there as long as he wants. Especially if it leaves him negotiating room with a republican senate. Why tie your hands prematurely?
That was one reason to vote against Biden. And, Schumer is not so distant left that I can't take him into account when voting my ticket.
A vote for Trump was a vote against Senate packing and Court packing, and a vote to save the Republic (because I wasn't sure people would sit by and let the Dems establish a single party system).
A vote for Trump was a vote against Antifa and BLM and rioting and looting, as well. Many things that would go into a legitimate, pro-Republic, pro-law vote also militated against a vote for Biden.
I can understand you feeling nervous about a DEMOCRAT actually placing a judge on the supreme court. Your party has had a free hand for the last four years and you have taken advantage of it. But I don't see any simple path to expanding the Supreme court.
Packing the Court: Congress passes a law expanding the Supreme Court from 9 to, say 13, and Biden signs it. Then Biden appoints 4 justices, and the Senate confirms all of them. Voila, the Court is packed (as that term is used). The Democrats not only control SCOTUS, but they basically convert it into a legislative body (depending on who they appoint). That is a very simple path to expanding the Supreme court.
Packing the Senate: Congress passes a law admitting D.C. and Puerto Rico to the Union as States. 4 new Democrat Senators join Congress. Voila, the Senate is packed, and single party rule goes into effect, since it would be very difficult for the GOP to elect 4 new senators.
Of course, if they did ever regain control of Congress, they could do things like split Texas into 5 states, and split California up. Depending on how the lines are drawn, that would even things up by creating GOP Senators.
You can see how this game would eventually break up the Union.

I am not at all nervous about the Democrats placing a justice on the Supreme Court like the Republicans did. That is normal.

His party members were pushing the issue. He could have said no to the issue, and settled things. But, he didn't. He implied it was a legitimate possibility. So, the issue was alive as of election day. As to why, you should ask the candidate you voted for.
It was to appease the progressives who were in the midst of a hissy. Had nothing to do with keeping voters guessing.

Ha! I figured the board would get a kick out of that.
I know of people who think Trump was coarsening American society, and voted against him primarily for that reason. Many of the reasons you offer against him are foolish: fake Russia stuff, tariffs are stupid (even though they protect manufacturing jobs), deficit (your candidate will be worse), covid (your candidate would have been worse), fake xenophobia accusations, "isolationism" (translate: not enough war) ... it just seems like you don't like him because he is mean.
When it comes down to policies, he was pretty strong. Many of the things you call stupid are still in the best interests of the average American citizen. Easy to be against those things sitting in your compound, running your own business. You are "the man." But, perhaps you could try to show some sympathy for the average American. I do admit that it is unfortunate that Trump's good policies are pushed by a person who is personally so dislikable. That cost him the election...and that will likely cost the country in the long run, more than having an ass as president would have cost us.
Tarrifs have not brought back manufacturing jobs, coal is still dead, and his trade war which he settled to save face cost our Ag industry a lot. On COVID just saying your candidate would be worse doesn’t make it true. What we do know is that his policy has been a disaster that has cost lives. I also mentioned his tax cut not the deficit. It will long term damage the economy while providing little direct investment back into the economy. Opposing isolationism doesn’t translate to wanting more war, it means opposing creating a more dangerous world without alliances like the Iran policy and the abandonment of our European allies has done. In other words he has overall done a shitty job and isn’t just mean. However his divisiveness to the nation and his pitting of group against group is also a major part of why he sucked along with his self serving narcissism and basic incompetence.
Your simplistic “You don’t like him because he sends mean tweets“ is just another shuffle to justify the fact that you supported this disastrous chaos sowing clown for five years.
I disagreed with Obama's policies but he nevwr rubbed me the wrong way personally and I knew there would be course corrections in the future. Trump has so divided us that if the Dems do sweep they will cancel moderation. This is why I pray for divided centrist governm
And Obama is a unifier? 72 million say that Trump's personality and his mean tweets were good enough to keep him on for another four. The president has to deal with China, North Korea, and Russia. You think having a Mr Rogers in there would keep us safe? Trumps personality brought high employment numbers for minorities. The highest. His personality protected our borders. His personality supported the military and law enforcement. He protected the unborn. He wanted church and God in this Nation. He made sure black colleges had the funding they requested without begging. His personality wanted the nation open for business. He called out BLM and antifa for what they are and demanded these coward mayors and governors protect their own people from those groups. Never happened though. Sorry that his personality doesn't fit the charm of the "unifier" Obama. Who got things done. Who didn't.

The overwhelming sentiment among Trump diehards is he got jobbed. I assuming there are more than a few Trump fans in GA. Surely the GOP recognizes the importance of Georgia in the battle against the radical left and will pour resources into the run off. They may be super motivated to get out there and vote. Their last stand v. Dems BLM and the Squad.
Just a thought. Waiting for the coffee to kick in....
