Just finished the most disturbing book I have read in a long time
We got out of the biowar business in the late 60s, and in the 1990s we found out that, despite international treaties, the Soviet program continued.
And it still continues.
Now with the various advances in gene splicing and DNA sequencing, new cures for all sorts of diseases are coming available...and so are new weapons. The Russians are working on highly contagious pathogens that have no treatment, that combine the worst elements of several diseases. They are the only ones doing it - and labs around the world are trying desperately to stay ahead of them.
Mind-boggling.
Gotta update the WMD syllabus.
