Do we uphold article 5 or do we stay out of it?

    We uphold Article 5.

    Which NATO nation?

Imposing corporate abuse, neglect and greed on deserving victims.

If we went to war with Russia…

…who would pay for Don Jr’s inevitable third wedding?

It’s the true nightmare scenario. I think we would respond but try to keep it limited.

Why would we not uphold Article 5?

Granted, we ("Biden's America, as conor would describe it) ignored our obligations to Ukraine, and allowed Russia to attack them without a military response. But, I would think that we would defend NATO.

I would guess that Russia would try to boil the frog, though...drop a missile "accidentally" into Poland, repeat elsewhere...if someone like Biden were in charge, maybe perform a "minor incursion" (Biden's phrase in his authorization to Putin) in Moldova or Georgia...and see where things go from there.

Trump’s comments and actions speak otherwise…

He has stopped aid to Ukraine, he’s threatened to not defend NATO, and he idolizes Putin.

Regarding our lack of a response when Russia invaded Ukraine…I agree that we should have acted, but in what way? Militarily? Tougher sanctions? I don’t believe anything would have been different if Trump was in Office at that time.

Trump has strengthened NATO more than any other president.

Liberal media encourages Russian attack of NATO by speculating that Trump won't defend NATO. This is similar to how we are told that we are being defeated by Iran (many posts on this in this forum from the Left). Leftists give hope and permission to countries like Russia and Iran, and then try to blame it on Trump. They are using geopolitical disputes for domestic political gain as we approach the midterms.

You said: "He has stopped aid to Ukraine" Got a link for that?

You said: "he’s threatened to not defend NATO" ... Yes, this is how he got NATO to start spending so that it could be a partner in its own defense. You can't deny that it worked, and that every exhortation by previous US presidents had no effect. He strengthened NATO through his actions, and continues to do so.

You said: "he idolizes Putin." ... Seems like a stretch. I think Trump is far more likely to fight Putin than Biden was.

You said: "Regarding our lack of a response when Russia invaded Ukraine…I agree that we should have acted, but in what way? Militarily? Tougher sanctions? I don’t believe anything would have been different if Trump was in Office at that time." ... I doubt that it would have happened if Trump were in Office at that time. Trump certainly would not have authorized an incursion by Russia into Ukraine territory like Biden did. Weakness invites these actions. Biden was weak (he wasn't even coherent). Trump, for better or worse, it at least strong. He says a lot of things about foreign leaders. For example, he praised "Rocket Man" a lot. I don't think anyone thinks he "idolizes" him, though. But Putin is a liberal boogeyman (even though Xi is the real boogeyman), and they use him as a point of leverage to regain domestic power.

Wow! You have a serious case of “Trump cock sucking fever”

Trump’s comments and actions encourage and embolden Russia. Example…you don’t think that embarrassing display of juvenile idiocy in the oval office against Zelensky didn’t encourage Putin? There are many other examples as well. If it was up to the “left”, Ukrainian aid would be in full effect.

Regarding Ukrainian aid, there hasn’t been any new legislation since ‘24. See the attached article.

Your “doubt” that Russia wouldn’t have invaded Ukraine holds no merit. All indications point to Russia invading regardless of who was in office.

If “we” means Trump’s America, then we fully embrace Russia.

If “we” means the United States, then we support the NATO ally and do what it takes to defend our ally as if Russia attacked America.
