Traveling to Savannah, GA. Any suggestions from those who have been?

business trips with stays in Savannah.

Most other historic sites worth viewing there that I'd recommend you probably have already seen on Google.

Restaurant-wise, you may opt for some upscale options, but at some point you should definitely check out Carey Hilliard's. It's an old-school BBQ and seafood spot that the locals have loved forever (my stepdad grew up in Savannah, and it's one of his lifetime go-to's). If you go with their BBQ, opt for double-meat, no stew, and get the onion rings (Sweet Vidalia onions that are double-dipped before frying). The seafood there, obviously, is also terrific. As is the fried chicken.

If you're going pretty soon, it's still beach weather. The water should be relatively calm at this time of year, as well. Not too many tourists, either. If you're going in a few weeks or later, still spend some time walking on the beaches - they're beautiful.

If you are going to spend anytime boating on the Intercoastal to do some fishing or crabbing or skiing, I'll note that the potential for gators does exist - that water may taste salty, but it's brackish enough for them to be swimming around in it.
