What unfolded on FlyDubai Flight 1073 genuinely mimic a high-stakes Hollywood action thriller.

Its timeline is like a movie script.

1. The kid went to bathroom and heard the noise - the struggle between 2 pilots. Then told her mom.

2. The seriously wounded pilot managed to touch the switch to unlock cockpit door before losing consciousness, leaving the last chance for those outside to step in.

3. The plumber who subdued the attacker pulled plane out of dive. He never flew airplane before. He did it just from watching those tv shows and he has strong arms to do it.

4. Two professional pilots from same airline FlyDubai happened to be on the plane. They stabilized the heavily damaged aircraft, and executed a safe emergency landing.

Everything is accidental like a movie. But it is real. Real cinematic-level heroes and real happy ending in a terrifying real-life event.

What's missing is the perp's motivation?

    And the broader significance.

Apparently, there are people who believe there is a "divinity" who "needs" his devotees to kill others and themselves because... he or she or whatever can't?

This is a pretty pathetic deity.

The entire ordeal is astonishing - no hyperbole

There will be movies made about this.

Many pilots have already chimed in about this. That the airframe was able to stay intact during a descent that was well beyond all safety parameters is a credit to Boeing. That little girl who alerted her mother literally saved lives. The actions of the attacked pilot are heroic.

The NYT framed the event as a 'bloody clash' between the pilots.
