“PB”=PotBelly? I didn’t realize your posts on oil prices were referring to cod liver oil.

And work out regularly and walk to play golf a couple times a week. Although with my cataract surgery that didn't work out, making clean contact with my irons has proven to be a real chore.

Exercise is important for overall health, but doesn't have a long term effect on weight.

The study I am thinking of followed these African hunter gatherers who would run like twenty miles a day.

Losing weight is simple. Eat less calories than you burn.

But, even if you get down to unhealthy body fat % you can still have a "pooch" (but not a gut). Gotta work the TVA with stomach vacuums. All the crunches in the world might not do it without the vacuums.

The body adapts remarkably fast to the burn side of the equation. Caloric intake is more important.

That is not to say exercise is pointless. Just that it doesn't help you lose weight.

Metabolism changed around 30.
Testosterone dropped noticeably around 55 (more difficult to maintain muscle mass).
You can keep a big gut at bay, but it requires effort (diet, exercise, etc. I’ve not gone with hormone supplements yet.)

It's not easy and I can't keep it for long. It's really not healthy because I need to be 10 pounds under my ideal body weight. It helps that I still have high T levels.

The problem is that these days it is waaay to easy to put weight back on if you don't watch it. A couple years ago I packed on 25 pounds of fat in the late summer and fall. I told myself never again.

Yeah, when covid hit I took up drinking and gave up exercise. In hindsight, maybe not the best move.

The six pack I had in my thirties, with 6% body fat, absolutely smoking 18 year old privates on the Army fitness test...those days are long gone. At least I know it is possible to get there.
