and when Nuclear as well as Renewable power plants come online (and they will), there will be a much greater improvements over the entire 'Life Cycle'...btw, EVs are already more energy efficient than internal combustion engine vehicles (85% conversion efficiency for EVs, versus less than 40% for ICEs)...say it with me..."Let's Go Electric!"

current 'Fossil Fuel ---> EV" energy balance favors EVs vs. ICEs, just ask...then maybe you'll appreciate how much more efficient we're going to be when the power sources are not fossil fueled.

Did you get your electric car yet? As of a few months ago you hadn’t but you say “lets go electric”

this shift away from reliance on fossil fuels for heat and power is...wait for it.........a HUGE undertaking...one that is going to require decades to complete...there are important infrastructure changes that must be made...most importantly the building of new electric power plants and services to get that power to everyone...we're just getting started...

It's a monumental challenge even if every single person is on board with the end goal in mind...sadly, there are significant numbers of citizens who can't, or won't, appreciate the reasons why this change is taking place and therefore make it unnecessarily harder and take much longer to achieve...but that's just reality, and needs to be dealt with.

You'll be carping and complaining even up to the point when you have no other choice but to buy an EV...or spend a fortune on a "Classic" and then try to find a "Gas Station".

Nope still hasn't. But YOU go electric.

the killing zones by pushes off the platforms of NYC subways'

Just some thoughts while enjoying a nice pour of Jameson's Black Barrel.
Folks who write these articles always mention the advent of laws to be imposed on the companies they believe will assume the role of recycling batteries. Now this begs the question; who in their right mind would willing start a business knowing that they will be encumbered by regulations. It's not like buying into cleaning up a deactivated nuclear plant where there is a known trust fund that will fall into their hands.
Hey, what about (not really a full whataboutism) those blades/propellers off the wind farms? I have not seen any recycle scheme for them, last I heard they were simply placed out of sight by being lined up in vast pits and covered with soil. Maybe they will grow new blades.
Also interesting how the contribution of mining detrimental to the environment is ignored.
Btw, is the availability of lithium and other precious metals unlimited or finite as is the claim about oil and gas? Anybody checked for proven reserves? We know gold petered out at Sutton's mill.

I'm going to go watch a DVR'd episode of Murder In Midsomer.

Mine is about 70% coal here in Missouri. (About the equivalent of $0.65 per gallon of gas.)
