My interest started to wane when Cecil Watson spurned Mississippi State's $188K offer for his son's
services and instead signed on with Auburn...it was then quite obvious what the 'rules of the game' had become...and now we have "NIL" payments...portals, etc...
I pray that ND doesn't go down that proverbial "slippery slope" to the mercenary bottom...if it takes forming another league with Duke, Rice, Vandy, etc...I'm ok with that...otherwise, the true 'thrill of College Football is Gone for me'...

Loved college football. Loved watching games. Far more than the NFL.
Obviously, Notre Dame football consumed my morale every fall.
Now I tape games. Barely follow recruiting. Still excited about a new campaign as the season approaches, but I fear college football has lost their horizon.
Agreed. Maybe I'm at 7...but NIL is sure to take me to 4 soon.
