Why would anyone not use history as their guide in this to conclude that they may be doing the same thing again?

Other agencies are allowed to designate "required use" travelers on a trip-by-trip basis.

This is a political prosecution to sway the outcome of two upcoming elections.

such sensitive information in it and maybe it could be released...as it is...the DOJ needs to protect American security interests and keep it sealed.

Keep in mind that the search warrant was issued as part of a criminal espionage investigation. As much as the media and the public would like to read the affidavit, the DOJ's response opposing the application to unseal the affidavit, articulated in part:
“Even when the public is already aware of the general nature of the investigation, revealing the specific contents of a search warrant affidavit could alter the investigation’s trajectory, reveal ongoing and future investigative efforts, and undermine agents’ ability to collect evidence or obtain truthful testimony,” the 13-page filing states. “In addition to the implications for the investigation, the release of this type of investigative material could have ‘devastating consequences’ for the reputations and rights of individuals whose actions and statements are described.”

FBI attorney Clinesmith admitted to it. he also had a text fully admitting it...but the statute of limitations ran out at Barr dragged his feet and then COVID happened. Also, he was tried in DC which is a get out of jail free card for Dmes. But there is no dispute of the fact that the FBI did this.
This fact takes away the normal trust that can be given to the FBI, They are hiding something against trump until proven otherwise. esp given the broad range of materials seized and the fact that Trump was cooperating with them and had complied with a simple subpoena in the past.
