Sounds like Schumer's warning to Trump. The IC has tools to take him down.

This morning, Fareed Zakaria had Finland's President on and asked him about Italy...he said

in effect that Italy's economy was 'not so good' right now, implying that 'financial' leverage could be used to keep the Right Wingers, led by Georgia Meloni, from causing a rift in the EU opposition to Putin's War.

Hopefully, everyone here wants the EU to continue aiding Ukraine's fight against Putin...and therefore support the EU's efforts to keep Italy "in line"...right?

Not really. Italy's economy (as well as Spain) actually is much better than Germany, UK & FR.

Italy's problem is its heavy reliance on Russia oil and gas, same as Germany. (Spain's problem is its inflation). The right wing leader of Italy against both Russian invasion and sanction on Russia. It's her stand on sanction that made EU nervous. Of course their stand on anti- immigration, support traditional family value and national sovereign also upset EU.

Thread Level: 3

I think unelected EU officials should keep their mouths shut about national elections.

European technocrats mumble all the platitudes about democracy until they don’t like the result. Then they turn to the thumbscrews and truncheons. The ends justify the means, right Tyrone? Just like all the bullshit legal moves against Trump.

Thread Level: 4

It's their "Union"...the EU members are not 'disinterested parties'...btw, do you want the EU to

stay together in opposition to Putin's War?

Your support of Trump, even now, borders on hilarity...even senior GOP Senators are 'Moon Walking' AWAY from him now...time for you to wake up to reality.

Thread Level: 5

My support of Trump? Where’d that come from? I’ve voted for him as many times as you.

Take it easy on the strawmen.

Italy can do whatever the Italians decide they want to do. That’s called democracy. Not surprised you disagree.

Your words: "Just like all the bullshit legal moves against Trump."...that's where "Trump" came from

as regards Italy, check out the linked article...here's an excerpt...
-------------------------
Summary

>Italy is facing an existential crisis that threatens the fate of the entire European Union.
>The 2022 Italian crisis is a toxic cocktail of excessive debt, poor demographics, and political instability
>The root of the ptroblem is a demographic crisis that is set to accelerate over the next 10 years.
-------------------------
The article has charts which help illustrate that crisis...unlike you, the President of Finland doesn't "Make Stuff Up"...again, these are critical times when the entire EU needs to act in unison...I shouldn't have to tell you why.

Next time do some research before posting.

Do some research? It's very simple. The EU president threatened the voters of Italy.

As I said, I'm not surprised you support something like that. It's completely inappropriate and I wouldn't be surprised if that moron Von derleyen put the conservatives over the top with her threats.

The left moves closer to Stalin every day. It's remarkable.

She...as well as the Finnish President (and others, I suspect) is 'warning'...'advising' the Italian

right wingers that there's a price for everything, and they should think twice before acting...nothing that wouldn't happen even in our own country.

Again, I trust that you support the EU's efforts to see that Putin in not successful in Ukraine...that has a great deal to do with this "Threat", as you term it.

Mostly true in Italy that always has coalition government by multi-parties, prone to cabinet crisis
