The notion you can policy your way to fight drugs and crime is unconscionable

Remember just say NO to drugs? It failed and will continue to fail as long as there is a demand for people to get high. The consequence to getting high isn't a thought to those who get busted.

Just like crime. No one plots a crime thinking about the consequence of it. It's a utopian mindset that people hold on to and it will never make a difference. Just why people get high, people commit crime for all sorts of reasons with none being "if I get caught how long will I get in trouble"!

Consequences mean everything and is why the mafia and gangs exist.

The problem is the consequences for committing crimes from the state or government aren't severe enough. Consequences from crossing the mafia or gangs are severe and immediate which is why people pay up and rarely don't report them or testify against them. Our court system takes too long and the penalties aren't severe enough to deter crime.

This is fairly disjointed, what are you advocating for or against?

Why is a question only you can answer. What are you advocating for or against?

Eliminate laws? Stop enforcing laws? Create new laws?

You didn't make the 'unconcionable' argument, I'm open to it, but really can't make sense because it is, to me, rather disjointed.

Why are you comparing crime and drugs in this way? The reasons people commit crime and do drugs are often quite different. Please explain your rational here.

I made a statement. that statement is policy doesn't fix everything you want fixed.

I'm not advocating for anything other than people needs to stop believing in the prism of 1 idea. Maybe we start looking at ways as a community to solve issues versus government.

Maybe if the punishment fit the crime, the attitude would change?

Both crime and addictions are symptoms of mental illness.

But this is caused by unbalanced, abusive or absent parenting during early development.

We could try to have policies that support responsible parenting by both a father and a mother.

But for thiose who are already messed up we need to offer treatments and limit the supplies of addicting substances but also isolate those who endanger the public.

Easy solution: Eliminate all criminal laws so there is no more crime
