Most on the Board wondered why Pflueger was on the court at all. Now that he is out for the year, he has become the missing star, and MVP. Poor Mike Brey. They woulda' been great. Or not.
God I envy Brey's press.

between coaching the men's game and the women's game.; its beyond apples and oranges...In the women's game, probably 95% of the talent resides in 5 programs; in the men's game, you can lose almost any darn night, competition is fierce, and worlds beyond the women's game..The road to the Final 4 is a tough, hazardous arduous one, not so in women's basketball..
around here don't get it and have little sports knowledge or don't realize that we are not recruiting one and done types or even two and done types.
1. Respectfully, you are wrong. Brey DOES recruit on-and-dones. He just does not do so successfully.
2. He has had an indisputable career of mediocrity.
3. Here we are in year 19 -- Let me say that again, YEAR 19! And they are . . . what is the phrase? Not very good.
4. Look at the teams they have beaten this year, and and throughout his career, and we could tally up several hundred Little-Sisters-Of-The-Poor JV teams.
5. Muffett built a powerhouse program from scratch -- no Digger, Johnny Dee history. Sure the women's game is different. But let's be honest: Brey couldn't carry her bra.
6. Brey can't coach in a tie. First we had the mock turtleneck; now the open shirt. Too uncomfortable to look proper.
7. Muffett coaches in 31/2 inch heels. See the point?
them with any realistic expectation of landing them. ND has not sold their soul like even Duke has now. How do our expectations in the class room as far as finishing your degree enable him to have a realistic shot at one and dones. He never has a dominant, athletic NBA recruit because they are all leaving early and ND seems to care more than the rest about that or at least that is the perception I am sure.
It really galls me when I hear BK get ripped, and muffett praised to high heavens..
He has been good for a long time -- but nevertheless was motivated to take a hard look at whether the game was beginning to pass him by.
Played for one National Championship; in the CFP; consistently recruiting at a high level; and seems to be getting good kids again, after some missteps.
Kelly is proof that the right coach can win at a high level at ND. No excuses.
football is way different than basketball in that no one is leaving before year 3 to go pro and those that do at ND usually have 3 an a half years or more toward their degrees and often come back to finish.

He can play a little D and hand out some assists. I don't see why brey is getting a pass.
He recruited these guys. Juwan Durham should see more time. Prentiss Hubb is
terrible.
