Having watched last quarter today, I see what you mean;
For a program once up there with UCONN, just like any other program now, barely average...Had lead most of 2nd half, then coughed it up Cant close out a close game, whether its the inexperience of the coach, or a tendency to tighten up, who knows..
Most likely tightening up. But Niele has some work to do to get their confidence.

The mass departures after the 2019 season hurt them badly
They started 4 seniors plus Jackie Young, all of whom left for the WNBA. Prior to the 2020 season, they had two more young women transfer and lost Vaughn to a knee injury and Prohaska to blood clots in both lungs. (both are back this year). Essentially, they went into last year missing the top 9 players from the previous year, No team can overcome that, even one coached by a Hall of Famer.
Whether Ivey was a mistake or can bring it back remains to be seen. She does need to be given more than 10 or 11 games, though.
They anointed Niele Ivey as the HC, but should have hired Megan Duffy.
