The biggest transfer target is big man Grant Basile, who visited with Hammond last weekend.
He's visiting Virginia Tech this weekend. I think ND needed to wrap him up after the visit, like with Hammond. I hope I'm wrong, but I think Basile will commit to Mike Young at Tech after his visit. He had plans to visit Iowa St. as well, but the word is that it's really between ND and Tech. Basile is the only big man left on ND's board and May 1 is the deadline to transfer and be eligible to play next season, so I doubt many other candidates will appear on the portal after that. If Laszewski doesn't come back, Brey will have to depend on Matt Zona in the post, unless freshman Dominick Campbell is good enough to play major minutes right away. I think Elijah Taylor can develop into a good player with minutes, but he's probably 6'6"/6'7". Taylor and Zona are the thickest kids on the team. Taylor's build puts his teammates to shame.
We need Basile badly and with Brey's track record of developing big man you think we'd have him.
