I watched the ND/Duke game last night. I felt that every player on Duke if that player was on ND

they’d be the best player on ND’s team.

I don’t know much about ND’s bball recruiting or roster construction, but when the current coach replaced Brey I thought he’d recruit at a much higher level.

I think ND should hire Coach Calipari, whom I believe is a daily communicant. He recruits at a high level & is a final four caliber coach.

If ND does this. ND should take the show on the road. Play DePaul or Marquette at the United Center (Chi), play St John’s at MSG (NYC), play Nova in Philly, play UCLA in Vegas or Staples.

Basketball is a big city game. ND has a nationwide alumni who love their school & would support these games, especially if you upgrade the product. Bring Leppy & have an alumni pep band cranking out the fight song. Heck pass the hat for NIL. Think big.

The current setup feels minor league.

“Coach Cal is our pal” tshirts all proceeds go to NIL!

Rome next season with the Pope possibly in attendance, why wouldn’t someone like Coach Calipari want to coach in that game?

(W/r/g to the big city idea. Notre Dame is a universal name, it shouldn’t be shoved in a shoe box. (Matt 5:14)
Notre Dame basketball should play the majority of their games after football season in late Jan/Feb on Thursday nights & Saturdays or Friday/Sunday depending on the week. They should not compete, as best they can with NFL playoffs. ND should play the “big city idea” on Thursday, Friday or MLK or Prez Day. That way they fulfill ACC schedule.

Btw, that’s the way the NCAA tournament is set up. You play 2 games (usually tough opponents) in a two game over 3 days stretch.

ND hoops will likely make bank with a guy like Coach Calipari. Players and coaches cost money in this era. The extra money should be poured/invested back into the program.

(IMHO it’s not that the game has changed or ND can’t compete, it’s that we have to think big, outside the box. Look at what the Cubs have done with Wrigleyville. They make money year round, with much of the revenue coming from outside the ballpark walls. We can do this!! LFG! God bless & Go Irish!)

We are the preeminent Catholic university in the world.

WTF, does our bball team stink?

Thing Big!! We can do this. God bless you Pete & Pat!!! Take my ideas and run with them, no royalties or strings! God bless you & Go Irish!!!

Ps: in football or basketball if they are giving out a trophy we want to win it!!! Every year!!! “It matters if you win or lose, that’s why they are keeping score.” - Al McGuire

PSs: In recruiting one of the first questions asked is could this guy start/contribute on a S-16 or Final 4 team.

Pssss we are Notre Dame we don’t have to settle. At the bookstore, Rocco’s, linebacker, Belmont etc. places that cater to ND fandom should have the “round up for NIL option on every bill”

LFG!!!
