How about Gerry McNamara. Did a great job at Siena the last 2 years. Grew up here in Scranton a lifelong ND fan and has some bad taste in his mouth regarding Syracuse after the Boheim retirement and how he wasn't even considered for the job.

No Pitino will ever coach at ND. Here's a realistic list.

No particular order, except for the first guy. The rumor was that he contacted ND before Shrews was hired, expressing his interest. I would hire him in a second. The program needs an established coach, and McDermott will also bring with him a firm, tested offensive scheme that works.

Greg McDermott
Ritchie McKay
Kenny Blakeney
Ben Jacobson
Matt Langel
James Jones
Mike White
Phil Martelli Jr.
Bob Richey
Eric Konkol
Mark Prosser
Bryce Drew
