THIS is where I'd invest our basketball resources.
We can't spend nearly as much NIL as the Big Boy Men's basketball powers.
Our women can fill the arena and get TV time.
Our men are unwatchable.

…as I am for all Irish sports teams and athletes.
However…really no interest in watching…unless maybe a championship game.

More power to her,
I might watch her over the current ND men...but I'm really not watching them either so...
But it does strain my memory to recall enjoying watching our men's team or a player who was a must watch.
And to support my opinion... name Domers now playing in the NBA or even who have played pro ball in the last couple decades.
preferences.
I never attempted to change yours...and you're most certainly not gonna change mine.
Yes, the Irish Men's team has not been competitive for some time...largely brutal since Brey abdicated the job while still standing in place for a number of years. (Savvy Jack?) However, despite being of a certain age, that does not make it impossible to recall "watchable" male basketball players at ND.
Last one who comes quickly to mind is Pat Connaughton. I believe he is still in the NBA with the Hornets and was on a championship squad with the Bucks in 2021 (to respond to others).
Just when I was there alone, it was Tripucka, Jackson, Woolridge, Hanzlik, Branning, Paxson. Long long ago now, to be sure, but I can still "recall" these things...and a great many players before and after. (Sadly, Digger actually seriously underachieved with that roster after the early Final Four success.)
Where college sports are headed now, I don't really see ND Men's basketball coming back...to be honest. That fact does not make me, personally, any more likely to watch women's basketball. I always wish them and their players the utmost success.
ND Fencing is probably the greatest most consistent sport there these days. You go to a lot of their matches?

My daughter is an excellent athlete and I strongly supported her at all times in multiple sports through high school, Enjoyed it immensely...just the same as watching and supporting my sons.
Doesn't make me enjoy watching women's basketball for any length of time. Just being honest...
AND I find the NBA tendentiously tedious.
Glad you enjoy women’s basketball and soccer. I do not particularly. I don’t much care for Men’s soccer generally save for World Cup.
I gave up on the NBA long, long ago. Occasionally watch later playoff games where defense is at least attempted at times.
I am watching the Knicks…but that is a vestige of my youth when I did love the sport.

I root for all ND sports, Steelers, Penguins, Pirates, and Pitt.
But you can’t watch everything. I am grateful for highlights.
Looking forward to watching ND LAX.
awesome. Big men posting up and not taking threes. Movement of players and the ball awesome. No superstars needed although Walt Frazier was actually one. No selfishness,

bored. As I look at women's sports now, very hard to get excited by them. The shots that hit under the rim. the wild shots that hit nothing or the top of the backboard, the reliance on the three point shot, the inability to finish layups, well, tough to watch. Of course along with the bullshit wokeness which is such a huge part. Why do you think the whole WNBA is jealous of Caitlyn Clark when she is personally saving that league?
