With all due respect, people need to chill. ND won at DePaul last night without its 1st or 2nd

option on offense, and with the starting point guard out for most of the second half, after tweaking his back, but scoring 17 points. Unlike the Dayton game, where Shrews kept guys who probably won't be in the rotation in at the end of a close game, he played his probable starters at the end of the DePaul game and ND took control and won.

Shrews finally has a group of guys who can fill roles. I watched the Dayton game. Even just as an exhibtion game, the offense looked much different. The team has two legit, back to the basket big men in Logan Duncomb and Tommy Ahneman. Duncomb didn't play last night. I have especially good feelings about Ahneman. He can score with either hand, is a good passer, and is already a big body in his first year playing. Braeden Smith is what I expected: he looks to pass first and second, and his teammates know to expect the pass, even when it might seem like it's not there. ND hasn't had a pass-first lead guard since Eric Atkins. Finally, the freshman Jonathan Sanderson is one of the best prospects ND basketball has had in years. Jalen Haralson was more heralded, but Sanderson has a much more rounded game. He will earn a lot of minutes this season. He hit big shots last night with Smith on the bench in the second half.
