Confession is good for the soul.

Silly us, we thought Aneyas got a well-earned chewing out by Marcus for the dumb ass TD celebration.

But upon further review, Marcus has seen the light. It began with the coaches bible study this morning. Also, he had a chance to review the tape of the incident. It's his job to correct Aneyas, but maybe Aneyas didn't receive the right message because of his "animation."

Marcus didn't like what he saw of himself on the tape, so he reached out later and he told Aneyas that he loved him. Once again, Marcus said that he has to be more aware of the environment he's in. In other words, it's not a good look when you cuss out a kid on national television before millions.

It reminded Marcus of a saying that they had at the Texas Roadhouse restaurant where he used to work: "You gotta keep it in the kitchen." You know: Keep it in the family; don't air out dirty laundry; etc. It's OK to F-bomb the players in practice when nobody's around to hear it, but never do it in front of a national audience!

This has been such a learning experience for Marcus. He's an Ohio State guy. Surely, he doesn't want to repeat the sins of two old Buckeyes, Woody Hayes and Bobby Knight, in trashing his players. He's a kinder, gentler version of those two antediluvian monsters.

No, this one's on him. Aneyas didn't sin; Marcus did. It was so big of Marcus to admit his guilt. That's real leadership. He's a true players' coach. Watch him speak to and hug each guy when they're going through their stretching exercises.

But keep it in the kitchen when the cameras are gone!
