No deep threat or real scramble threat. Wimbush was the real choice for UM and Clemson.

the better team won. We can argue coaches and players, but in the end the better team won.

How about, they choked! Or at least some of the key players did at the start and it quickly went downhill from there on. Unforced fumbles, false starts, dropped passes. and so on. The coach told em they had to make Clemson feel uncomfortable. Fact is, it was the ND players that came out uncomfortable, or at least some of them did, and never got comfortable. Give Clemson some of the credit, but the ND players never got into any semblance of "their game".

I hate it for the coaches and the players. They're far better than what showed up.

Tranquill and Coney didn't think they were unprepared

In the article in the Observer, Tranquill said he and Coney thought ND's defense was handling Clemson's offense pretty well.

Except for a few plays (I'm talking to you Vaughn, Gillman, Coney) the choking was on the offense.

It was the first game without Bryant and Sunshine got hurt.

And the transitive property doesn’t work in football.

Thread Level: 3

Correct. Clemson played that game with a third-string QB.

Clemson's D pretty well handled the 'Cuse offense. Syracuse scored 2 TDs. A first possession TD, then a 10 yard TD "drive" after a turnover.

Definitely unprepared and coaching. It's silly to think we couldn't have put up points.
