USC's new OC is interviewing for NFL positions even after Lynn Swann blocked him.

Some confusion over whether he paid the contract buyout and he's no longer OC or whether USC lifted the block. He may be the favorite to take the AZ job and I bet Tampa and the Jets will be interested too given that he's a QB guru. Let SC's immolation continue.

I definitely chose the wrong profession when a .500 coach has NFL teams lining up to hire him.

I could see him as an OC, but as a head coach? There is a reason why the teams looking at him suck

more often than not.

Yeah, I don't think it will work but that's what teams are grasping for

Good NFL coaches usually aren't going to leave for another job unless the QB situation is great.

College coaches that are really good have great situations and don't hardly entertain it anymore.

The coordinator route brings a different set of challenges.

And then you have the NFL retreads.

At least here, this seems to be an outside the box hire. Probably won't work, but likely cheap and if it doesn't work, fire him quick and move on.

It was a curious hire from the start

It was either going to be a one year rental or Helton was going to get fired and they would promote him.

They should have either just fired Helton and hired him or went a different route.
