It wasn't long ago that Clemson was derided for failing to show up on the big stage, for flaming out spectacularly.
Things change very quickly in the world of collegiate athletics. Knee-jerk reactions to single games or single seasons are usually proven wrong.
I like the trajectory of ND football.

One player (Deshaun Watson) put them in a position to compete with the best and subsequently get rolling with recruiting. It's a little more complex than that, but the point is that things can change quickly.
If ND does that, things will fall into place and the program will get to where we want it.
...for a program. Toss in a decent head coach who can recruit and you're off to the races.
The path to success is clear...and has been for some time now.
Long in advance, I've said the system is sad. This is separate from ND and what it can or can not achieve.

Not much mention that Clemson ran a dirty program this year.

That colleges should be about student-athletes not athlete-students?
Again the comment was about the Clemson "model". I'm not naïve and don't think college athletics will actually be run properly...just that it should.
