#2 and unranked aren’t the same. Obviously, I want ND would win a championship. But short of that, I’d like to see the highest ranking.

Almost all of ND's recruiting for this class is done, and was done before the final AP poll.

The final AP ranking is unlikely to have any impact on recruiting this year. But a ranking final ranking might assist with next year's class. It can't hurt.

1)Clemson, 2)Bama, 3)OSU, 4)Okla,5) ND,
while there is an argument ND could have been 3 or 4, I have no complaints, I saw it coming...3 points scored will leave a bad taste in the mouths of the voters especially when OKla scored 34 in other semi, no matter how tainted..Bama getting rolled did not help one bit..

I think it is likely that most pollsters had their ballots filled out before last night, leaving only #1 and #2 to be determined. The assumption that ND "didn't belong" because of a 27-point loss to Clemson being factored in. It probably wasn't fully reconsidered after Bama lost to the same team by 28. ND should be #3. I don't see any honest way around that.

Believe this is correct.

I disagree with AP - for the record. ND should have finished out at #3.

Those who end up in the playoffs should never drop out of the top 4.

Wouldn't bother me if they punished Bama equally for being blown out by the same team...Bama 3 ND 5
