I’m surprised how many games this year that we can buy 4-6 tickets. USC is the only game where I am restricted to two. Haven’t been this many available that I can ever remember

It isn't a lottery anymore.. it is a ticket selection process

No randomness anymore

Obviously favoring the big donor is nothing new...but it does seem to have gotten more pronounced...

The ticket office has "windows" for purchasing seats. The "windows" open on different days. Windows for very generous donors open earlier than windows for mere generous donors, and windows for generous donors open earlier than windows for those who make respectable donations, etc., until you get to non-donors. There are plenty of seats available for most games (USC was the only one this year tight on available seats at the non-donor level that I saw). I don't have a problem with giving donors something in return for their donations.

I was speaking more broadly than just the ticket process which, except cost, has some advantages.

That said, in 1988, as a recent grad and minimal contributor, I received 50 yard line seats (up in the stadium) for the ND-Miami game in the lottery for a reasonable price.

That type of thing would not happen now.

I was considering not using the lottery this year since I know prices will drop & access won’t be a

Problem given the schedule.

Prices generally get reasonable after a loss and plummet to next to nothing after a second loss...

True, but wins in Athens and Ann Arbor could push prices up too.
