To the point I think 2019 JOK at ROVER might be just as good, if not better, than 2017 Traquill at ROVER. He's the first player Notre Dame recruited specifically to play ROVER and he's so damn athletic.
Still don't know what to think about the other two linebacker positions, but I am irrationally optimistic about ROVER.
Not only his athleticism but his length and speed are something ND hasn't had at ROVER. I know losing Tranquill and Coney are big losses but am I wrong to think Lamb and JOK could be at the very least comparable if not better this season?
Next year? Maybe, but I not this year. I do think it's possible for the drop off to be far less than the cliff some predicted though.
And that still doesn't solve the problem at MIKE. That is one position I am still very much worried about.
Coney and Tranquill were big league players last year. Anyone can look great in practice, I'll wait for Georgia to see if those guys are ready.
As good as both Coney and Tranquill were it's not like they were first round draft picks ND is looking to replace. Coney didn't flourish till his junior season when Lea started coaching the linebackers. I expect guys like Bo Bauer, Drew White, Jordan Genmark Heath, Shayne Simon, etc. to step up. It's not like we are talking about true freshmen stepping in. These are all guys who have years and a couple of games at least to be ready for what Georgia has to throw at them on Sept 21.
brakes.
but what the hell do i know - i'm not an educator teaching our young people how to read and write.

We saw Tranquils instinct early on, have you seen the same with JOK?
