Foskey outruns the linebackers in the sprints

Great for Foskey but what does it say about the speed of the linebacking corps. We have a problem in that we have no replacement for either Coney or Tranquill who played 90 per cent of the snaps last season. Kelly said today that we are still trying to determine what our linebackers strengths are. Not a good situation with a couple of weeks to go before we tee it up. Additional problems at Nose and Defensive Tackle where there is no Tillery or Bonner in either size, experience or production.

I seriously doubt he is faster than the LBs. More likely he was being Charlie Hustle....

and the others weren’t exactly giving 100%.

I don't believe illusions because too much is for real.

I agree but it does show a desire from him to get on the field.

The goal of summer camp is to have the players ready for the opening game not ready for Aug. 10.

You are reading too much into it.

If I read the same thing you did. The report was that Foskey ran “gassers” across the width of the field and back with LBs at the end of a player’s workout this summer and, according to Khalid Kareem, he finished first. The point Kareem was making is that Foskey is a hard worker with a good motor. I don’t think anyone is claiming that Foskey is dusting JOK in 20 or 40 yard dashes. Foskey seems like a freak, though, and he might make some noise this year.

I agree, it's conditioning, the goal is just to finish within the specified times
