Why did Gilman have to sit out a year, while guys like Justin Fields & Tate Martell were able to....

play immediately after they transferred from their respective schools? Both of them saw significant game action in 2018.

Don't get me wrong, I'm glad we have Gilman this season. If he played in 2017, he'd already be gone.

I'm just curious.

The Fields case is a particularly egregious case of NCAA bullcrap

Does Georgia wind up with Fields, Frohm and Eason and we have Book and Jerkoff?

Thread Level: 5

Because the culture of racism that drove Fields away is strangely attractive to HS recruits?

Setting aside the "they're out to get us" hyperbole, do you think the punishments for ND and UNC were fair in a comparative sense? And do you disagree that Gilman's denial of waiver is perplexing, given that he had an actual reason and the waivers seem to be given out liberally? I will just front my position: I can't square the punishment disparity between ND and UNC given the facts. And I've long said Gilman had as good an argument for waiver as any I've heard. But I also agree too many fans go to the "they are out to get us" well too easily and reflexively on too many items.
