I just can’t see how ND can win this game. We couldn’t beat Georgia two years ago with a true frosh

QB who is only better now. My biggest ND concerns are offensive line push and Book. If we can’t run the ball, we are hosed. I’m also concerned that Book will get happy feet on pass plays like he seems to always get when playing against fast defenses. On defense, can our middle linebackers stop the run and be effective? It’s probably ND’s weakest unit at this point in time. Georgia has one of the best offensive lines in the country and RB Swift is a beast. I’ve been watching the kid since he was in HS. Finally, time for Chip Long to earn his paycheck and have a great offensive game plan against an elite team. Go Irish and let’s hope they can shock the world!!!

You are excellent at comparing APPLES to ORANGES. Good job.

Fromm is better for sure, but our secondary is better than 2017 and so is our pass rush (DEs).

Fromm is a pocket passer so our pass rush will have more opportunities to pressure him. We have more ball hawks in the secondary than we’ve had in a really long time. On run defense, since Fromm isn’t mobile the LBs can focus more on the RBs. I think our weakest unit (for this game) might be the interior of the DL. But at least we can roll in a lot of bodies there.

Ian Book is less likely to get frazzled than Winbush was in the last UGA game

ND lost because an ND safety made a late hit on the UGA QB, otherwise..

If I recall correctly it was near the sideline on a QB scramble and gave them a first down on third

down. Near the sideline is always a little iffy because you don't know if the player will actually go out of bounds or whether he will get a few extra yards because he knows you could be called for a late hit. That said as much as I predicted that Okwara would be the best defensive end as a sophomore, he does tend to hit a little late sometimes.

Biggest concern is the defense.ND offense has playmakers if used effectively.
