Not sure what to think about this McNulty hire. Almost sounds like BVG 2.0.

style, popularity, recruiting ability, effectiveness, weaknesses, etc. It's about a 50-50 split on people who think he's a solid coach to those who even wonder how a guy like this continues to get hired. He's obviously bounced around alot. So does this mean he's jack of all trades master of none or does it imply his career is quite rounded due to the various areas of experience he has. At some places he has thrived and excelled, at other places he has struggled. Perhaps this is not unlike most career coaches. So then the question becomes, which one is it gonna be at ND. Thus, my initial comment.

and I see a guy with a lot of experience and a lot of success. I think it's good that he worked with Tommy in San Diego and they seem to have a solid relationship. That matters!

Can you really blame him for the shit show at Rutgers in '18 and '19? I don't think so, but as always we shall see.

Except he never worked with Kelly before and won't be a coordinator

So pretty much nothing like BVG.

Agreed. But I wonder if he can recruit well, can he get along with players and can he effectively

coach what is an extremely important position at ND?

Thread Level: 4

I’m confused you agree that he is not BVG 2.0? You flip flop more than a politician on this thread.

Brian Gorder is / was a bad coach. Items I've read suggest McNulty may be cut from the same mold.
