MSU must be desperate. Hiring a guy who went 5-7 in just one year as a HC.
And I don't get Tucker even wanting the MSU job. The competitive mix in the PAC 12 is much flatter than the Big 10.
I.e. Tucker would've had a much easier time winning in-conference at CU than at MSU.

I predict that he will do a good job at State but it may take a few years to get things back on track.
The bar is so low at MSU that Tucker will be given a decent chance to succeed. His problem will be recruiting quality that does not get into trouble.
And that was not a clip!

Dantonio really f'ed Sparty over by announcing his departure so late in the cycle. After Fickell and Narduzzi said 'no', they had little leverage. Tucker rebuffed their initial overture, but probably extracted one hell of a lot more when they came back to him.
MSU is still a good job and I hope Tucker can turn it around.
Odds are overwhelming that it's the latter.
