So Kelly averaged 14th over this time frame. Is the goal a championship or being Top 25?

We shouldn't focus on the rankings, more on the quality of the commits. BK & Staff have really upped their game over the last couple of seasons. I am more confident than I have been previously that ND can be in the playoff talks on a year to year basis with the recruits that are coming in. Especially now that ND is getting good recruits in the skilled positions.

Clemson won the Natioal Championship in 1981 under Danny Ford. (Don't think that was vacated)

I believe your post is meant to explain that Clemson won a title previously. I do know that.

The point of my comment is exactly what it meant to be. That the recruiting rankings are not an accurate give away if you will win a championship or not.

Overall recruiting rankings are misleading because it doesn’t control for size of class. Our per

player average is usually top 10. There’s good recruiters on this staff, and ND has done a pretty good job under Kelly, but there’s probably another level it could be taken to.

His recruiting is below average for ND..not sure why people think he recruits well

desire ND , when they have never seen ND win a title..Given NDs admission requirements ,and code of conduct, hasnt it been estimated that ND's pool is 50% say, of the powerhouses..I think BK is recruiting well, given the cesspool that is intercollegiate athletics today..If anyone can do better,we wont know until he leaves..

Willingham wanted recruits to call him. During the D-W-W years we never got to 85 schollies.

That's on Willingham who, in addition to being a terrible coach, was a lazy recruiter.

Weis was an excellent recruiter despite being an awful coach.
