I'm with Lance.....we generally use "Domers"
I've never been referred to as a "Notre Damer" by a fellow alum or a friend/subway alum.
"Notre Damer" is a term an outsider/non-fan/hater uses.

Yeah I know I have this old friend, like 90, who graduated from ND too but hates the reference to
Domers, so out of respect to him I didn't use it. I will from now on.-

Maybe it's a generational thing
I'm in my 60s and the phrase "Notre Damers" is a very off sounding phrase to me. Most people who know me and know I'm from ND, especially other Domers, use that phrase. I am either a "domer", "from ND", "went to ND," "ND Guy".
When I hear the phrase "Notre Damer," I get ready to hear snotty comments.
I know you didn't mean it that way but I don't hear "Notre Damer" very often.
